Kennedy Gets Tough

While I was at lunch today, I saw Ted Kennedy go ape-shit on committee chairman Arlen Specter demanding that the committee go into executive session to vote on a subpoena of records kept by the defunct Concerned Alumni of Princeton (CAP), a group Alito belonged to and included on a 1985 job application to the Reagan Justice Department. This radical right wing group has vomited out such gems as a 1983 essay from the group's magazine that Kennedy quoted, "In Defense of Elitism."

Kennedy quoted the essay saying, "People nowadays just don't seem to know their place. Everywhere one turns, blacks and Hispanics are demanding jobs simply because they're black and Hispanic, the physically handicapped are trying to gain equal representation in professional sports, and homosexuals are demanding that government vouchsafe them the right to bear children."

There's a saying that lawyers have that goes something like this: don't ask any questions that you don't already know the answer to. Methinks Kennedy may know something we don't. I sure do wanna see what those records say. Could be verrrrry interesting. You go boy!
