The Hillary Haters

The Hillary Hating Hypocrites are foaming at the mouth again about a sentence she used in a speech during an MLK Day celebration. The Senator said "When you look at how the House of Representatives has been run, it's been run like a plantation, and you know what I'm talking about". Never mind that Newt Gingrich said almost the same exact thing about a Democratic Congress.

Why do Republicans do something so obviously two-faced? Do they really have that short of a memory? Sadly, the answer is yes. It's been said that not all conservatives are stupid, but most stupid people are conservatives. The truth is these dimwits are all about hate. That is the basis for all GOP shill based shows like Limbaugh, O'Reilly, Glen Beck, Savage and the 700 club, to name a few. They're simply too stupid to do any thinking or fact finding on their own so they leave it up to pathological liars to fill their empty heads with nonsense because it just feels sooooo good to hate, to finally feel superior. Because that will never happen in real life. Because of their inability to reason objectively, they are forever trapped in a world of apathy and intellectual laziness.

This from one of the many I.Q. sites
To gain a clearer perspective regarding what this means in terms of our daily contacts with people, let's take a trip down to a local Walmart. Let's suppose we're visiting the only Walmart in a small, rural town, so that neighborhood inhomogeneities don't affect the cohort of shoppers we'll find at the store. That way, we'll be seeing a nearly random cross-section of the public on our trip.
OK. Here we are at Walmart. I can already see quite a few people out here in the parking lot.
Let's suppose that we're going to see 100 other customers while we're here shopping, and then consider their breakdown by IQ. On the basis of the law of averages, we'd expect to see one person here with an IQ below 64! There'd be someone else with an IQ between 64 and 68. There should be 3 more with IQs between 69 and 75. In other words, if this is a random crowd, 1 out of 20 people we're going to meet will have IQs below 75, and will be seriously retarded! (I guess we're lucky the world works as well as it does.) Keep your eyes peeled. See if you can spot 'em. About 1 out of 10 people we'll walk past here at Walmart has an IQ below 80, or about 10 of the 100 people who cross our paths here in the store! Hey, look! Does she look kind of sagaciously-challenged to you? One out of 5, or 20 of the 100 people we're seeing have IQs below 87, with about 1 in 10 in the 80 to 87 IQ range. Half the crowd, or 50 out of the 100, has below-average intelligence!

Interesting how close that percentage is to the number of people that voted for King Bush. And isn't that why he makes them feel good. Because he screws up words and acts kinda dumb and talks on the same level they do. Never mind that he went to a 'Yankee Elitist' school... 'he's da kinda guy they wanna swill a brew with, yup..... darn tootin'. It's actually a brilliant move by the Repugnicans. They could've elected the characters in "Dumb & Dumber" and half of America would be 'jus fine wid it'.

This is what is so damned infuriating about this mess we're in. Repukelicans are raising a servant class, dumbing them down so they will be good little car washers and maids and janitors and busboys. It's the new and improved version of slavery. Fuck owning them, that's too expensive. This way they don't have pay for their upkeep and if they get sick, well that's just too damned bad. The Party of 'FuckEveryoneButMeAndMine' is in control and half of 'Americur' is just too stupid to see what fools they are being played for.

Add in a little religion to keep 'em pacified and you have the Straussian playbook strategy all layed out.

Alito the Draft Dodger

Why is it that NONE of these fuckers ever served yet are so gung-ho to go to war? I guess when you're part of the ruling class, it's beneath you.

Attywood has an excellent post up about why this whole thing about CAP (Concerned Alumni of Princeton) is important. Alito is just another one of the many draft dodgers this administration is famous for. I won't bother quoting the post- you should read the whole thing- here.

Driftglass describes Bush and the facade known as Republican Party (bearing no resemblance to what it used to be) better than anyone. He calls Bush "an undeserving man to whom chance gave a shot at greatness, and whose small, mean soul let him piss it all away". WOW- what a perfect description.

Kennedy Gets Tough

While I was at lunch today, I saw Ted Kennedy go ape-shit on committee chairman Arlen Specter demanding that the committee go into executive session to vote on a subpoena of records kept by the defunct Concerned Alumni of Princeton (CAP), a group Alito belonged to and included on a 1985 job application to the Reagan Justice Department. This radical right wing group has vomited out such gems as a 1983 essay from the group's magazine that Kennedy quoted, "In Defense of Elitism."

Kennedy quoted the essay saying, "People nowadays just don't seem to know their place. Everywhere one turns, blacks and Hispanics are demanding jobs simply because they're black and Hispanic, the physically handicapped are trying to gain equal representation in professional sports, and homosexuals are demanding that government vouchsafe them the right to bear children."

There's a saying that lawyers have that goes something like this: don't ask any questions that you don't already know the answer to. Methinks Kennedy may know something we don't. I sure do wanna see what those records say. Could be verrrrry interesting. You go boy!

Love and the Lottery
A non-political post

I was laying in bed this morning thinkng about the women I've known and my current lovelife (or the lack thereof). I was thinking that the chances of me finding my soulmate are about the same as me winning the lottery. I'm getting older and it's not looking too good....... but I still buy those lottery tickets.

Here's the way I see it- what do you think?

  • 6 out of 6- a winner! Odds: 1 in 13,983,816
A perfect match, your soulmate, perfect love ill death do you part.

  • 5 out of 6- Odds: 1 in 54,200
You both love each other deeply despite the things that drive you absolutely crazy OR same as above but one-sided and it eventually falls apart.

  • 4 out of 6- Odds: 1 in 1032
Your madly in love till after a year or so you realize it was probably just lust and those thngs you overlooked in the beginning are now a stone in your shoe. Doesn't last more than a few years, if that.

  • 3 out of 6- Odds: 1 in 56
Not really your type but you're willing to see how it plays out for a bit. Typical one-night stand or casual friend (with benefits).

  • 2 out of 6- Odds: 1 in 7
Just meeting someone you like.

  • 1 out of 6- Odds: 1 in 2.42
Seeing someone that you like today.

George Washington and George Bush Duke It Out

One liked funny wigs.

The other likes funny hats.

One chopped down a cherry tree.

The other likes cutting down trees and burning them for fun.

One said "I cannot tell a lie".

The other cannot tell the truth... about anything... ever.

One proudly served in wartime.

The other chickened out.

One lead an armed insurrection against King George III.

The other wants to be King George IV.

One owned slaves.

The other one wants to.

One opposed torture even in time of war.

The other is willing to break the law to do it.

'nuff said about what GWB's legacy will be.

It's worse than you thought !!

Apparently, King George has gone way beyond the bounds of "wiretapping" and was instead datamining the communication streams AND sharing that information with other agencies.

First, the difference between datamining pattern analysis and traditional wiretapping is vastly different. A wiretap is a lot like fishing with a hook, line and pole. When I worked for the telephone company, I occasionally would come acrosss these devices attached to the copper pair of wires going to someone's home. Datamining using pattern analysis is more akin to a giant net dragging the vast ocean of information flowing from the US. The finer the mesh, the more fish are caught as well as millions of other fish, the unintended species called the bycatch. Surely, everyone remembers the dolphins being caught in tuna nets. Pattern analysis is similar to googling that stream of info and as most people know you get a lot of unintended results with that.

It appears ole' King George is googling the data streams (both voice and text) leaving the USA for keywords and then creating links between the results hoping to find some bad guys amongst the billions of results. Of course he can't go get warrants for millions of phone calls every day, this is why he has chosen to ignore the law. People, this IS Big Brother- monitoring everything being said and written in the hopes of catching somebody doing something wrong using 'the ends justify the means' reasoning. Problem with that is, it violates everything America stands for. By that reasoning, the terrorists are winning. Didn't this administration say that the terrorists hate our way of life? Well, our way of life is based on freedom, liberty and privacy, our right to be secure in our homes, against unreasonable search and seizure.

And now this from the WaPo;
But other agencies, one former official said, have used phone numbers or other records obtained from NSA in combination with wide-ranging databases to look for links and associations. "What data sets are included is a policy decision [made by individual agencies] when they involve other than terrorist links," he said.

So let me get this straight- other agencies, at their discretion, get to use the info collected for 'other than terrorist links' ? (Oh... like.... say, links to Democrats funding maybe)

This, my friends, is the sound of America dying.

(sorry I haven't posted much lately- been very sick)
