Democracy's Last Stand

An excerpt from Chris Floyd's The Last Stand of the American Republic;

That's why the spy scandal is so pivotal. Because it is a direct, open and unignorable challenge to the institutional life of the American Establishment. In it, the Bush Regime is saying to the various powers-that-be, especially in Congress and the courts, but also to centers of power and influence outside government: you no longer have any power. All real power is now in our gift. Your laws, your institutions, your traditions, the whole complex infrastructure of checks and balances that have sustained society are now essentially meaningless. As in ancient Rome, we will keep the old forms, but the life of the state has now passed into the hands of the autocrat and his court. His arbitrary will can override any law -- although of course, strong law will still be applied to his enemies, and to the riff-raff in the lower orders.

This is Congress's last chance to redeem itself, to prove that it believes in our way of life, our government, our Constitution, our laws. If they choose to ignore the willful law breaking of King George the Fucktard, then they have shown themselves to be nothing more than traitors. Oh how they bray about establishing 'democracy' in Iraq (despite reality showing it's a theocracy now with a state religion) but when it comes down to it, will they show their true selves? Will they show themselves to have something more than the balls of a gnat OR will they just roll over and show us the fish-white belly of the cowards I suspect they are?

To ignore this crime goes way beyond the pale and essentially establishes an autocratic rule. They (meaning those elected
Echinococcus officials) better be damn sure that they want to go down this road cus' it'll damn sure come back and bite them on the ass like a pit bull that won't let go in the long run. The more the Republicans cheat, lie and steal, the more difficult it will be for them to cry foul in the future (although I'm quite sure they will weep like little girls ... a la Duke Cunningham). What bothers me most is- How much more crap are the American people going to put up with? How ______ (insert pejorative here; stupid, moronic, imbecilic) do you have to be to not be red-faced screaming angry about being lied to, robbed, spied on, cheated and shit on? I feel like Danny Thomas, waiting for the next turd to drop. What crime will be exposed tommorow and ignored? Does Bush have to come to your house and rob your safe while Cheney fucks your teenage daughter for the middle-of-the-road masses to wake up and smell the 'work camps'?
I fear we are going to get the country we deserve and that is one fucked-up picture.

Suicide Kings Wild

This weekend I played poker with some friends. I normally don't gamble, usually because of someone's weird ideas on acceptable play such as "you can't go home now" (meaning please stick around long enough for me to win my money back) or "you can't fold now" (ahem, I'll fold whenever I feel I can't win a hand, thank you very much). As usual, I rather quickly separated my friends from their money. One of my favorite lines in a movie is from the B-movie "Quigley Down Under". The hero, Quigley, has never had much use for a six-shooter, being an expert marksman with the long rifle. In the end, Quigley kills all three bad guys in a flash with a six-shooter and says (at least the way I remember it) - "
I said I never had much use for one. Never said I didn't know how to use it. " After I have relieved my friends of their money, I like to rub it in a little with that quote when they ask me why I never gamble. (BTW, I pretty much gave everyone their money back). One of my friends favorite games is five card draw with suicide kings wild. Which brings us to this.

Can the presidunce really be this stupid? He admits to doing something most reasonable people and scholars believe is illegal. But you see, this president thinks he is King------- King George, the Prince of Putz. However, in reality, he is a small minded, arrogant, bigoted fancy boy all dressed up in a cowboy clown outfit pretending to protect us while his buddies rape the Treasury. What does he really think of our democracy? Here's the real deal-
...."I don't give a goddamn," Bush allegedly retorted. "I'm the President and the Commander-in-Chief. Do it my way. ... Stop throwing the Constitution in my face. It's just a goddamned piece of paper."

That just about says it all, doesn't it? A politically suicidal would-be King running wild. Secret prisons, torture and spying on Americans is not the United States many brave men and women have died for.

Georgie Boy's "Fat little Brother"

From Gainesville.com-
Gov. Jeb Bush stepped to the podium in the House chamber last week and told a short story about "unleashing Chang," his "mystical warrior" friend.

Here are Bush's words, spoken before hundreds of lawmakers and politicians:
''Chang is a mystical warrior. Chang is somebody who believes in conservative principles, believes in entrepreneurial capitalism, believes in moral values that underpin a free society.
.........

The saying was apparently quite popular with Gov. Bush's father, and referred to a legendary warrior named Chang who was called upon to settle political disputes in Chinese dynasties of yore.

The phrase has evolved, under Gov. Jeb Bush's use, to mean the need to fix conflicts or disagreements over an issue. Faced with a stalemate, the governor apparently "unleashes Chang" as a rhetorical device, signaling it's time to stop arguing and start agreeing.

Sorry, fat boy but the gangbang's just gettin' started. Remember Ken Starr, 'cause I sure as hell do. He spent 5 years trying to smear Clinton with anything that remotely smelled like shit. And now you want everybody to just play nice and forget all about Katherine Harris, Clint Curtis, stolen elections and the hundred other things your criminal family enterprise has been involved in? Hey, stick around Jeb. Hopefully the fun is just starting and most of you can go to jail where you belong. Maybe your buddies can get some pointers from Susan McDougal about prison life.

Why did I mention Clint Curtis, the programmer hired by Congressman Tom Feeney to create "vote-rigging" software while working at Yang Enterprises? Because this story has received almost NO attention from the MSM.

I have excerpted a large portion here but you should read it in it's entirety;
Experienced federal investigators, acting independently, have discovered a covert funding channel used by the 2000 and 2004 Bush-Cheney campaigns and the administrations of Jeb Bush in Florida and Bob Taft in Ohio to illegally funnel foreign and other questionable money into Republican coffers.

Ever since the brutal death of Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) investigator Ray Lemme in July 2003, the focus of investigators in Florida and Georgia has been on the political scandal Lemme was uncovering. After his official investigation of contract fraud, money laundering, illegal immigration, and election fraud was shut down on orders of Jeb Bush, Lemme continued to investigate the use of FDOT to launder cash for the Bush Brothers and their allies. Lemme's focus was on the use of the Florida turnpike system to launder cash for the Jeb and George W. Bush campaigns. It was an investigation that would ultimately lead to Lemme's body being discovered in a motel room bathtub in Valdosta, Georgia. A two-state police cover up of Lemme's death, threats directed at Florida and Georgia investigators, and a virtual media blackout indicates that the GOP administrations of Jeb Bush and Georgia's Sonny Perdue wanted the Lemme story to go away -- and fast.

The reason for the cover-up of Lemme's reported "suicide" is simple. Investigators have now discovered that foreign cash, including Chinese, Saudi, and Nigerian money, was laundered via the biggest state-run cash cow in Florida -- the Florida Turnpike system. Because most of the transactions involving Florida's toll roads involve cash and huge amounts of it, it was easy for foreign and other questionable money to be laundered via FDOT.

Jeb, if you're involved, I hope you get the death penalty !

Young George Bush- the COWARD

It turns out that Mary Mapes, the CBS producer that was fired for reporting on W's "service" in the Texas National Guard, was right all along. In her new book, she details how critics and the freeper bloggers were wrong about the documents that no one, to this day, has proven were forged. In fact, Republicans today, admit that many people of privilege and power avoided the draft this way, as if that is supposed to make it right. In an interview with Hunter, Mapes provides more insight about the coward we call President of the United States and his "privileged youth, his access to special treatment, his empathy (or lack of it) for less advantaged individuals ".

It should come as no surprise that spoiled rich kids receive special treatment. However, in a time of war, equal treatment for all should be the rule of day. And certainly, those people shouldn't be in charge of sending those less fortunate off to war. It could be argued that
because they have received special treatment in the past, they should be the first to go to war. I guarantee you there would be fewer calls for war if these spoiled brats asses were on the line.

Quote:
"It troubles me that Bush's aborted service in the Guard has been used repeatedly to help create the myth about who this man is. He is not a swaggering former fighter pilot. He is a lucky rich kid who was handed the keys to an Air Force jet the way some kids get handed the keys to a sports car. He flew as long as it was fun and would keep him out of the real war. He quit showing up when he lost his nerve, his interest, or his control over his carousing."

Couldn't have said it better myself

Money Magnet OR Monied Maggot

This is the headline from a WaPo article on Bush's fundraising ability "Candidates Welcome Bush Despite Dip in Polls, He's Like a Magnet for GOP Money". He certainly is a money magnet for those that would like to purchase special favors. This is a President that has brought the White House to new lows. Surely, worst President EVER is a fitting description of a man who never turned away a buck, no matter where it came from. I'm amazed that this guy has ANY followers at all. How fucktard crazy do you have to be to believe a single word that comes out of his mouth? Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING a Republican says nowadays has to be fact-checked and scrutinized to find the underlying truth. There is always an ulterior motive. Will we ever see a President that knows how to tell the truth? I doubt it.

So this should come as no surprise. "House Completes Vote on Tax Cuts for $95 Billion". Once again, for about the billionth time, Republicans prove that they are neither conservative nor compassionate. It's all about how much can you steal from the poor and middle class, buggering us until they have completely destroyed our economy. When the shit hits the fan, do they honestly think we're not going to come after them? How 'bout a tax rate of, oh.. let's say 90% for those making more than $500,000 a year? They are the ones reaping the benefits and running the deficit up to astronomical figures and they should be the ones to pay to bring it back down. That is if there are any of them left that aren't in jail.

Incompetent Design

This is priceless. When Intelligent Design first became popular, I was remarking to a friend on the golf course that whomever designed my body was an idiot. My back hurts, my knees are shot, my ankle still hurts from an injury 20 years ago and why didn't this Intelligent Designer make us immune to hangovers? Enter Don Wise, creator of the "incompetent design" theory.
"Wise cites serious flaws in the systems of the human body as evidence that design in the universe exhibits not an obvious source of, but a sore lack of, intelligence." I wish I had thought of that phrase first. My hats off to you, sir !

The #1 Enemy of Democracy

Meet Diebold CEO Walden O'Dell, possibly the most corrupt man in America. I would like to see the crime of tampering with elections punishable by life without parole. There is SO MUCH WRONG with Diebold's election systems that I don't know where to begin. I've written dozens of letters asking for investigations into what went wrong with elections in at least ten states. However, Republican election officials continue to block and thwart investigations into this company. It fucking disgusts me that these people are allowed to breathe the same air as me. How bad do you have to hate America and everything it stands for by subverting the basic tenets of our democracy?

Despite being wildly off from historically accurate poll predicitions, Diebold claims its' machines worked flawlessly. This should be great news for the Ohio GOP, as Mr. O'Dell promises to deliver the vote for governor in '06 to Richard Milhouse Nixon (although still dead). In addition, lucky Republican voters will have a chance at winning rare coins, distributed via the coin return slot on Diebold's new voting machines.

Diebold- delivering the most loyal election officials money can buy !

The Gang that Couldn’t Loot Straight

This is why I love Driftglass's writing. What a perfect name for the Republican Party, the "Gang that Couldn’t Loot Straight". Here's a link to a brewing scandal that is a great example of the limitless corruption that has taken over our democracy (or what's left of it). Between the rampant corruption and the loony-tuned Talibornagains, I wonder if I'll have time to escape to my paradise before the shit hits the proverbial fan.

The problem with FAITH

Here's a little snippet from the November 17 edition of Salem Radio Network's Janet Parshall's America and John Gibson from FauxNews about this bogus "War on Christianity":

PARSHALL: And number two, I have to tell you, I don't know when they held this election and decided that tolerance was a transcendent value. I serve a god who, with a finger of fire, wrote, he will have no other gods before him. And he doesn't tolerate sin, which is why he sent his son to the cross, but all of a sudden now, we jump up and down and celebrate the idea of tolerance. I think tolerance means accommodation, but it doesn't necessarily mean acquiescence or wholehearted acceptance.

GIBSON: No, no, no. If you figure that -- listen, we get a little theological here, and it's probably a bit over my head, but I would think if somebody is going to be -- have to answer for following the wrong religion, they're not going to have to answer to me. We know who they're going to have to answer to.

=================================================

This is the problem with people of faith. Faith asks you to believe something that is not provable or verifiable. You just have to accept it on face value. Whether it is right or wrong is in the eye of the beholder. I think a large portion of the problems facing the world today is because people's faith spills out into the public sector. God is no longer a private thing between you and Him (Her or Whatever FSM you believe in) but something to guide your life by. You see, the people who flew into the Twin Towers were people of faith too. Strong, convicting faith- so much so that they gave their lives for it. Totally... absolutely... sickeningly WRONG but that's what they believed.

So here we have Johnny boy and another Christopath whining about how they're being persecuted. What utter nonsense- did somebody nail you to a cross, John? No, how 'bout stoning you? There are people being persecuted out there, right this minute, right now. They just don't belong to the same faith as you. Pssst John, we're the ones doing the persection & torture.

What's so dangerously wrong with faith is one actually believes what they're doing is right, despite how it looks to others. There isn't a war against Christmas or Christians. In fact, the opposite is happening. Christians are trying to impose their will on the rest of the world. It's their job, according to the Bible. If you want to try and convince me of your God, that's fine with me (all you have to do is prove it) - just don't try and IMPOSE it on me. That's what the Constitution is all about. Tolerance..... not imposition and today's wingnuts can't recognize the difference.

I'm actually glad Americans don't have more faith. That's why the direction these Dobsonites are trying to take us is soooo very dangerous. Today's christianity is more watered down than the drinks in a Costa Rican brothel. And that's a good thing. Sometimes, I find myself having to point out to certain halfwits what their Bible actually says (usually because they've never actually read the thing through). If the Bible is unerring and infallable and absolute truth, then true believers are required to do all sorts of despicable things. A quick read through Deuteronomy would land a true person of faith in jail if they acted on some of those things. Yes, I know the New Testament supercedes the OT but there's plenty of things wrong there as well.

So John, it is over your head, and if you think I'm following the wrong religion (which happpens to be the only true religion in my book, a faith I'm happy to defend; ProvenVerifiableFactBasedReality) then put your so-called tolerance into action and ShutTheFuckUp. I want all people of faith, all of you, Muslim, Christian, Hindu, whatever to act like you got some smarts and keep your extreme, wacko myths in check. Take a step back and look at what you're trying to get people to believe in...
Seventy two virgins in Paradise
Imaculate conception
Walking on water
5,000 year old Earth
Sacred cows
.....and on and on.....

People actually believe this stupid shit and what's more they are not only willing to die for it, they're willing to kill for it as well.
